On behalf of DQ'd rider this weekend

Well Said All,

And Johnny V- good job on the apology. We all make mistakes (or do things
that piss other people off) and our country has a bad habit of character
assassination (e.g. witch hunts) and expulsion (i.e. prison) rather than
recruiting others to act upon higher intent.

In order to thrive, OBRA needs to have events where anyone can come to a
race and feel like they can belong, have fun, & ride bikes. Let's let those
who break our rules understand their mistakes and atone by making the
community stronger.

P.S. Suggestion: PEAR homeless youth program had some kids involved in the
past- get them your support!

Thom, you make it sound like you’re in trouble.

Dammit, this sort of maturity and contrition really takes the piss out of the lynch mob. It's a real pity we'll pinch off this discussion when it was just coming to a head. I could feel a stream of expletives building. Though I suppose I'm relieved it's over, this leak in decorum should serve as reminder that feeling cocksure about another person's motives can lead to a trickle of incorrect assumptions.

Dammit, this sort of maturity and contrition really takes the piss out of
the lynch mob. It's a real pity we'll pinch off this discussion when it was
just coming to a head. I could feel a stream of expletives building. Though
I suppose I'm relieved it's over, this leak in decorum should serve as
reminder that feeling cocksure about another person's motives can lead to a
trickle of incorrect assumptions.

Johnny V asked me to send this to the entire OBRA community:

I sincerely apologize for my misconduct at the cyclocross race this weekend. I feel I am a disgrace to the race promoter, OBRA, the School, my Team and my Friends.  I made a stupid decision and feel I need to pay for my mistake. I admit I was being lazy and regret my mistake.  I am going to pay the race promoter back for both races and make a $200 donation to the school.  I learned a valuable lesion and it will NEVER happen again. Please forgive my ignorance.
