Hood River Double Cross #1 & #2
Saturday, September 17th and Sunday, September 18th

. Early-Season Series
We've partnered with Pain + Suffer'n and the Battle at Barlow to create a
four race early season series. Series points will be kept and the top three
riders from each field (except beginners) will receive a front-row call-up
at the first Cross Crusade race on October 2nd. Don't miss a chance to line
up in front of the other 150 people in your field!

. September 17 - Race #2 of the GPMC
Saturday's race will be race #2 of the Grand Prix Molly Cameron. Come out
and see the GPMC Series Leaders show their jerseys, and watch to see if the
leaderboards change by the end of the day. Description:

. September 18 - Race #1 of the Oregon Junior Cyclocross Series (JCS)
The Hood River Double Cross is proud to host the opening races for the 2011
Oregon Junior Cyclocross Series. These races will take place on Sunday,
September 18th. Please note the schedule differences for the two days. For

Venue
Both Days!! September 17th-18th: Hood River Valley High School. Traditional
high school course on Sunday (Saturday course TBD). Mix of twists and turns
on the edges of the athletic fields, and fast, smooth singletrack on the
trails.

Categories
Category A/1 = OBRA and/or USA Cycling categories 1,2, NORBA 1,2 and anyone
else who chooses to race at this level
Category B/2 = OBRA and/or USA Cycling category 3, NORBA 3
Category C/3 = OBRA and/or USA Cycling categories 4&5, NORBA 4 (Riders at
this level may choose to race in a higher category.)
Beginner = Beginner
Masters = Age 35+ (unless otherwise noted) and ability graded as outlined
above.
Promoter and/or officials reserve the right to change your category.

Prizes
Prizes for all categories will include fresh local fruits, jams, cookies,
wines, and other products ($300 value).

Double Cross Competition
Points will be given each day for the top 10 riders in each category. Points
schedule - 15, 12, 10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2. Winners for each category will
receive Double Cross trophies. $250 prize list for Category A Men and Women
Double Cross Champions.

Membership & Licenses
This is an OBRA event. OBRA membership required for all riders. Single race
memberships are available for $5.00. Cyclocross season OBRA memberships are
available for $15.00

Registration
Register online at www.obra.org (
Register for 9/17 race,
register for 9/18 race). Day of race
registration opens at 7:30 am and runs until 15 minutes before each race.
Save time by printing out a waiver from the OBRA website and completing it
at home.

Fees
$23 online. $25 day of race. Second race per day is $10.
Juniors - $5.00
Kid Kross is free (must sign waiver).

Directions
Hood River Valley High School: From I-84 East or West take exit 62. From the
top of the off ramp bear right onto Country Club Road and proceed for two
miles, then left onto Belmont Drive for 1.3 miles. Belmont Drive becomes
Indian Creek Road; continue for another .8 miles and high school is on your
right (Indian Creek Golf Course on left).

Notes
There is no water on the site. Please be prepared with your own.
No alcohol at the High School.
Please do not ride on the athletic fields or running track.
Please use the darn Port-a-Potties, not the bushes.
Helmets required.

Family Information
Hood River is a wonderful community for families and late September is a
perfect time for a visit. The weather will most likely be very pleasant and
the trees will be turning to exquisite fall colors. Check out the Hood River

Camping/Lodging
Due to continued efforts to control the Dollar Lake Fire on Mt Hood,
Saturday night camping will NOT be available at the Hood River County
Fairgrounds this year.
