Double Cross!

Thanks to all of you who made it out to Hood River today. We had a great turnout, beautiful weather, and awesome racing. I know some GPRT shirts changed hands today!

We have another great day of racing in store. Come out and support the Oregon JCS and high school racers. The weather should be lovely again, we have a fun course set, and Ravens Nest will be slinging sandwiches all day long!

I still have a stack of prizes from today (top 3), so drop by the registration tent tomorrow (or ask a friend) and pick up your prizes.

Thanks to everybody who makes this event so cool!

Jeff

It sounds like David Douglas kicked off the 'cross season with some hot racing (in more than one sense)! One more weekend of great races and then it will be Double Cross time. We're making our last arrangements and picking up prizes.

A couple of quick reminders:
1. Both days of racing will be at the high school in Hood River. I think there was a bad link somewhere that still said Cascade Locks, but we're back in the Hood.
2. I'm super excited about being back at the school, buy that does mean two things. One, please do not ride on the athletic fields, and two, no alcohol please.
3. Don't worry about the alcohol prohibition at the school. Hood River will more than make up for up after your race. We have four micro-breweries and the highest concentration of wine-tasting rooms in Oregon.
4. Finally, remember that part of the "double" in Double Cross is two chances to earn points for Crusade call-ups. Don't miss your chances!

See you in the Hood!

We don't have a Running of the Bulls race. Except my 1st or 2nd time on the Velodrome, years ago. I forget which event. Age = Masters category, or whatever and ended up on the same track with George Hincape & company. Like riding blindfolded down a freeway.

I know this is early for some of you (but late for the real 'cross addicts) but I'm excited to announce that this year's Double Cross will have a great new venue. We're going to be moving to the EasyCLIMB trails in Cascade Locks. Both days, September 15th and 16th, will be held on the venue, though rest assured the course will change. We have lots of other things in store, and will announce more about the GP Tina Brubaker, the Oregon Junior Cyclocross series, and Crusade call-up points, but I wanted to get the word out that we are ready to go this year and can't wait to see you all again for some great 'cross action in the Gorge. Put in on your calendar! The trails are always open and the Port of Cascade Locks has a great map available at
http://portofcascadelocks.org/documents/easyCLIMB%20brochure.pdf If you want to see the trails in race form, go to the Oregon Short Track Championships on August 12th.

Oh, and there's a whole bunch of non-cyclocross racing between now and then. You should probably go to a road race. Or a stage race. Or a criterium. Or a track race. Or a MTB race. Or a short track race. Or a time trail. Or a hill climb. Ain't Oregon great? (Did I miss anything?)
