In my post-De Ronde haze, I want to take a moment to give a huge thank you to Dan Boatright (of Filth and Fury) who came to my rescue today. I snapped my chain halfway through the ride and as he passed, Dan called out, "Have everything you need?" "No! Sigh." So Dan, and his awesome teammates, turned around to help. Suddenly, he was like a one-man Indy pit crew, pulling out all the right tools (including gloves!), flipping my bike over, and getting to work. Not 10 minutes later, I had a fully functioning chain back on a fully functioning bike. And I was able to finish the ride.
Thanks, Dan, for allowing me to continue the fantastic suffer-fest that is the Tour de Ronde. You were my bike hero today!
