Cycling in Tigard Area?

I start my rides at taylors ferry, just a mile to the west of you or so. Heading over oleson road you can head out to skyline via a number of routes, my favorite is via gardenhome\multnomah and then capital hwy to Cheltenham and westwood up to Fairmont, or terwilliger. From terwilliger you can also head downtown or out east to the spring water or other routes.

There are also a number of side roads (Pomona to 55th, barbara, ventura and others) near taylors ferry with little traffic that take you to the top of taylors ferry, without riding on taylors ferry until the near the end near 55th. You can then catch capitol hwy either way to head towards lake Oswego and the rides out that way or again towards skyline via Multnomah.

Scholls is the other way I go to head towards bald peak or out towards Hillsboro.

If you have kids you will want to hit the fanno creek trail system which is right where you live.

Have fun. I CCed the list just incase. Feel free to email me if you want more specifics.

Hey OBRA,
My wife and I are house hunting and came up with a potential winner in the Tigard area. Specifically around SW Greenburg Rd and Hwy 217 area. Having spent the last 16+ years living in Hillsboro, I'm spoiled with easy access to road riding as well as my commute in to Portland. (via bike...not the black hole that is Hwy 26). My question is, how easy is it to get around that part of town on a bike? Looking at a map it looks like you might be able to get out to Scholls which would lead you out to some good riding. Just looking for some insight if anybody lives out that direction or passes through. Please respond off list to me.
thanks,
Brian
