Hey Everyone,

After 9 months of planning its finally time for the Tour de Bloom this
weekend. There is a lot of excitement about the event in Wentachee with
the improvements we’ve made, the community support behind the race, and the
partnership we are developing with the Apple Blossom Festival. I know
riders from British Columbia, Montana, Southern Oregon, and Washington will
be at the race this weekend. Hopefully you will be joining us this
weekend. The great thing about the omnium racing format is that you can
sign up for only the races you want to do or sign up for them all. Below
is the link to registration, the event website, and tech guide.

Erik

PS - The earlier you sign up the easier it will be for me to make sure
everyone gets a Tour de Bloom pint glass.

Hey Everyone,

The Tour de Bloom in Wenatchee WA is coming up in a couple of weeks. This
event also some interesting history and a lot of community support. Many
years ago Ed Farrar, Dave Douglass, and the Wenatchee Valley Velo Cycling
Team started this event. Ten years ago Tyler Farrar showed his home town
crowd and Prom date how to win a crit while schooling Rich McClung and his
former Saturn of Bellevue teammate Doug Carlton. Once in a while on April 1
st we start hearing that Tyler plans on being in town to race the crit. I
can’t promise that Tyler will be at the race this year but what I can
promise is that we’ve been working on providing you and excellent weekend
of racing while the Apple Blossom Festival is going on.

What’s an Omnium?

An omnium is a multi-stage race where participants earn points in each race
that will count towards the overall placement.

What makes an omnium different than a stage race?

An omnium is based on overall points from the races and the race’s winner
is determined based on overall points – not time.

What’s different this year?

· Mission Ridge is sponsoring a uphill time trail for us

· The omnium points in each stage goes 100 places with a deep point
spread

· Lots of extra bonus points will be up for grabs during the crit
to keep the action going

· Orando Ave Experience with live music and beer garden will be
going on at the east side of the crit course

· Ladies there is a Pro 1/2/3 race and a Cat 4 race

· Master men we have you covered with the Master 35+ cat 1/2/3,
Master 40+ Cat 4/5, Master 50+, and Master 60+ races

· We also have a Juniors C/D race

· You can pick and choose the events you want to participate
