Apologies

I am strongly in favor of that. Even better would be adding "repeat post" for a FS item that you just recently posted about. Both of these would allow setting a filter so we don't need read your post again.

Perhaps a better solution would be an OBRA Want-Ads/Classifieds section.
Fill out an on-line form and click 'send' and "poof", the goofs/services
get generated. After 10-14 days, the ad is deleted automatically. I have
done this for other groups/clubs successfully, so saying the overhead is
too much is baseless.

If people would simply include "For Sale" or even just "FS" in
the subject line of these types of listings it would go a long way
towards alleviating the issues.

I agree. We all are citizens of OBRA. I would assume most of my posts annoy more than Scott offering up items. He is not the only one who posts such things. If interested, one can read, if not delete. Each of us come to OBRA from different backgrounds and how we are perceived here in the electronic sphere is not always a full picture of who we are as human beings. As cranky as I can be, I want to be more tolerant of how others view the world.

I agree that the reaction was harsh, and that "public shaming" and "cyber bullying" may be appropriate descriptions. If you don't like what someone's saying, send them a private message, be nice.

Come on, we're all humans here... This isn't a YouTube comments section. This is OBRA, coolest people on the planet! (I think.)

The board is basically community managed - offensive or inappropriate posts are typically handled just like your's was.

Posting an item for sale is an accepted use of this board. Repeated spamming with advertising is not - as you are now aware.

Good luck with your product.

FWIW, I have to agree on the moderation bit. While I could see the point of
the complaint, my thought when I read that reply was mostly just
“aaaawkward.....” Much better to contact either the moderator or at least
just not reply-all, so that you give the person a chance to make things
right (or not) of their own accord.
