An excellent article. It describes a guy I know who is quite rational in most things but goes non-linear over cyclists who don't follow the rules. Such as going around traffic instead of standing between two cars during a traffic jam. He views this as a violation rather than a simple survival tactic.

Add to this article the simple fact that there are people out there who will run you off the road just for laughs.

A shrink I knew said it best: "Paranoia is the fear of unreal dangers. With all the fruit loops out there, you don't have time for phantoms."
