Nope. Like I said in my note Dan is paying the same fees as everyone else. USAC sells services to race organizers. They are not using anything.

Thanks Mike for the background info. Just seems like having the event on either the OBRA schedule or on Alpenrose page would be helpful in helping people planning to race. If not at all possible I would suggest earlier emails on OBRA list with link to flyer on USAC page. So I take it that USAC gets to use our velodrome for free while the promoter and racers must continue to feed the evil empire?

As Dan notes, this is a Collegiate Cycling event which means it is organized through USAC. USAC will no longer do combined sanction events. Given this, OBRA is not involved other than providing equipment (lap board, timing system, etc.) USAC events do not appear on the OBRA schedule. Enforcing the requirement for flyer and other USAC rules is USAC's responsibility. Given past USAC history I would not hold my breath waiting for them to fulfill this responsibility. USAC has issued liability insurance naming Alpenrose Dairy, OBRA, ATRA and PVC as additionally named insureds. Alpenrose Velodrome has liability insurance through ATRA which is not event based and covers all scheduled activities at the velodrome, which includes this event. That means there will be at least 2 liability insurances covering this event. Poor Dan is going to have to pay both USAC and PVC fees but he does not have any alternative if he wants to do a Collegiate Cycling race, which was what his goal was. He is adding in non-collegiate races to try to offset these expenses. Sounds like he has gotten permission to ignore the usual USAC prohibition on one day licenses for other than beginner categories. It also appears that he has gotten clearance to ignore USAC rules regarding assigning categories.

Haven't you heard?! It's only the last track race on the Alpenrose calendar!
Come out on Sunday to grab one last day of track racing and support the Northwest Collegiate Cycling Conference.
Timed events start at 9am, mass start racing begins at 1pm.

It's a USAC event open to both collegiate and any USAC licensed racers.

**OBRA racers can purchase a one-day license and still race their appropriate category.**
**I'll repeat, OBRA racers can purchase a one-day license and still race their OBRA-equivalent category.**

One-day and annual licenses will be available day-of.
I'll see you at the track.

It's a USAC event open to both collegiate and any USAC licensed racers.

**OBRA racers can purchase a one-day license and still race their appropriate category.**
