I just race for abrasions and sore hands. It makes me more manly. And I
totally scored at Barlow. Thanks!

When there are wine prizes, juniors should get grape juice, since that's what wine is. And when there is beer, juniors should get root beer. Or just give the prizes directly to their parents :)

I would like to take a moment to thank everyone for the positive feedback provided to us regarding Battle at Barlow. So you all know, we strive to make every aspect of the race successful from the vendors to the spectators and everyone in between. Most importantly; the racers. There was an oversight this Sunday regarding the payout to the Women's field, we completely screwed that up. We would like to take this opportunity to apologize to everyone involved and everyone we represent. It is our intention to make racing an equal sport, and we failed at this attempt regarding payout. Over the next few days, we will be sending out checks to all Women A racers that equals the payout to the Men's A field. To the other promoters, please learn from our mistake and do what you can to get everyone on their bike and racing. Please be fair, racing is hard no matter who you are. Sorry Juniors, you still do not get any wine. Steve (Smith and Nephew p/b WestEnd).

Big ups to Steve and WestEnd for both making this statement publicly, but
also encouraging other promoters to join him in equal payout for men and
women.

I do not wish to engage in petty back and forth about sizes of fields and
numbers, etc, it's pointless to bring up those arguments. Whether you agree
with equal payout or not, I don't care. As a woman racer, I love it! And
I will enthusiastically continue to support races with equal payout.

Thanks Steve for a great race and promoting bike racing in Oregon.
