We are lucky

Ditto to what Kenji and Candi said. With all the negativity going around it makes the job as official less rewarding.
Makes me want to say a huge thank you to all the racers that thank us and tell us how awesome we are! We obviously think you racers are great and it's nice to hear it back!

There's a lesson to be learned here. Don't be a jerk.

Being a jerk turns people off to our sport. When our beginner fields
are getting smaller we want to get more people involved. When parents
of kiddie crossers hear someone being a jerk they wonder whether it's
a sport for their kids.

Our reputation is of one where we go hard but have fun. Remember that
we are a community- and a damn good one at that. Help us all live up
to our reputation.

There was definitely something in the air. We had someone come and yell at the finish line because he did not like the way the flag was being waved. Not sure if you know but my officials do not get a break during the day. The time period where we had lunch was filled when we separated the juniors out. So we have to eat with one hand and just keep scoring. And the Crusaders work even longer hours then we do.

Most of you treat them with respect but every once in a while…………………….

To be racing with such a great group of people (I am sure there are a few unpleasant encounters) on such great courses makes me feel very fortunate.

I hope most of you are not moaning in some zone of negativity, but celebrating how great we have here in OBRA-LAND.

Thanks for both Saturday and Sunday’s great races. Lots of close times today.

Remember. If you were not first, ride faster. If you were not last, ride slower. So many choices.
