We are getting ready for OBRA Champs at Corn Cross (Liepold Farms).
Lots of food being served , new sections on the course, longer time in the corn maze, and a variety of local brews.
Anyone know of a good band or that group that drums. I have seen them at different events on corners in Portland. Would love to have some drummers at this event on this course. Send them my way.
Remember if you register online you get a $5 token for a beer or food.
More info later......

I just wanted to give a big shout out to my volunteers that helped with the course set up, tear down, and pit.
Erik Tonkin and his crew from Sellwood Cycle and Repair, Michael Clark, Chris Valencia, and Alex Churchill.
Mack Stilson, Candi Murray and the rest of the OBRA crew it was great to work with you. Thanks for all your help.
Looking forward to the OBRA Champs on November 19th.
Yes I will have a 70+ category for men and yes a 60+ for women.

Of course Liepold farms and the rest of my volunteers who are not affiliated with OBRA you did an awesome job and thanks
for all of your support.

I have to agree that Corn Cross today had one of the best CX roller coaster rides I have been on. The new course had a big effort, then recovery repeated over and over and the Corn maze was tacky and a blast. Those of you that missed it really did miss out. Love it, just wish more people would join in on the fun.

Yeah right. I race for Team S&M (at least kind of).
But... Corn Cross was the best course yet this season* (* I have not raced all courses) . Very little recovery which really hurt my lack of training arse. If you felt you could not do it because you raced yesterday (we love you Het Meer), get real!!! Your family does not matter! You were born to race the toughest courses. You are Woman...or the more frail gender....Man (sorry Donald T. but TRUTH is TRUTH). Nothing is more important than proving yourself on a course set up by “The Man” Tonkin. He knows Cross and this was great. I am already looking forward to the OBRA CHAMPS out there later in the season. Yes this is a very Family Friendly place. The kids have stuff to go wild on....similar to Heiser, except closer to the actual race course. So... Great course, a landowner who is super supportive...to the point of allowing a fly-over to be built, the City of Sandy totally plugged in as a public agency supportive of bike racing and an OBRA sanctiond race. Come race the OBRA Champs racers. Talk to anyone who raced it (other than myself) to see if it was not a fun / tough course. The corn maize rocks........even though all the corners seem the identical. Will I ever escape?
The Zalder up next! Ouch

Corn Cross registration closes today @ 5p.
Remember when you preregister you get a chance to win 2 nights on the Coast. This house sleeps 20!
Beautiful Victorian house next to bike paths and Fort Stevens.
Don't forget about the doggie cross. There will be bobbing for tennis balls, tons of giveaways, a fenced in area for dogs.
Willing to volunteer and tear down? Food, and registration included.

Just wanted to give a big shout out to everyone that participated on Saturday.
Especially to all the volunteers, Sellwod Cycle, Eric Tonkin, and OBRA officials!!
Also there was a pair of pearl Izumi shoes left and a pair of black pearl Izumi gloves.
Email me if they are yours.
I am looking forward to next years race Corn Cross 1 in Sept and Champs in Nov.
Enjoy Thanksgiving with the people you love. I am off to Disney with the family.

Would you all quit saying how awesome the course was, we need to keep it a
secret. Just because it had awesome off camber downhill muddy sections, a
ripping fast and totally rideable muddy corn maze, topped off with a
sphincter clenching drop from that fly over, doesn't mean we all need to be
spouting off about how great it is. I mean its freaking awesome, but we
don't need to let the 120+ MST B riders that trucked to bend know about
it.

Adding my thanks to this thread as well. Really great course and venue. I hope it'll be back next year. It deserves a more prominent spot where it doesn't conflict with the crusade.

Thanks,

I second this--------anyone who didn't go to Bend and took a pass on this race really missed out.
Thumbs up to Erik and the Sellwood crew on a great course layout! This rapidly becoming one of my favorite courses.
