Good afternoon everone, well another year has flown by and we are now in the midst of organizing the 5th Annual Hammer Velo Pay It Forward Xmas ride for Doernbechers Childrens Hospital...
The past 4 years have been amazing to say the least and last years teams that stepped up to take on families and support them for Xmas was awesome...Seth and Ward from Half Fast Velo both took families on and Emily from Oregon Bike Shop, and Hammer Velo...So 4 families had a great Christmas....
This we are already have the Half Fast Velo boys stepping up and today a group of cyclists from Daimler Truck North America volunteered to take on a family...So looks like 4 families again this year....If any other teams want to take on a family we can still make that happen, let me know soon....We also open up the rides to anyone that wants to join in the night of the rides....Also if you can donate funds toward this event that would be great as well....We support low income families that have kids at Doernbechers Children's Hospital....then decorating all our bikes with lights, bells etc and ride out to the families house to deliver gifts on the bikes, the looks on the kids faces is Priceless......Dates will be set later for the rides....Last year we raised over 1000.00 dollars to buy gifts for our family and I know the other teams did that much as well....It was a great way to start the Christmas holidays by making another family very happy.....Let me know if you are interested or just look for details soon on the ride date.....And thanks to all those that donated in the past, its a great event that we started and I know every family we have helped has really really appreciated it.....If you do want to donate to the Hammer Velo Team for this event please contact me and I will give you info where to send....
