WTB (borrow) drain snake

I have a pretty long snake but it's kind of crude with kinked metal sleeve
with a thumb screw in it. The operator is supposed to twist the handle and
feed the snake into the pipe, slide the handle a bit more and repeat. My
problem is when I get close to the clog there is a kink in the snake that
wads up in the pipe and it won't go any further so I need a better snake
with a nice crank that won't give me blisters twisting and twisting.
I can buy one for around $50-$75 or about 1/3 the price of a plumber but
odds are I won't need it again for years.
If you have a nice snake I can borrow, I can compensate with beverage or?
Otherwise I'm going to buy a snake this afternoon. If that doesn't work, I
guess I'll have to admit defeat and hire a plumber. Any plumbers on here?
I'm on the west side.
Thanks!
