CX Nats cancelled

The bad part of that good news is that the 17-18 boys will likely run over the girls within 1 lap. Could be dangerous for everybody on a tight muddy course with National titles on the line.

This may seem like an inconvenience for racers wanting to concentrate on their own field BUT it means the girls might actually be able to get some much appreciated coverage. How are girls supposed to get interested in cycling unless they see it's something girls do? OBRA has 5 grrrlz representing us there tomorrow in the now broadcast jr's race. Coverage starts at 10:45 at behindthebarriers.tv

That depends on how well the soils drain there.

After 3 inches of rain and they think one day its going to dry out so the grass does not get damaged...hmmmm, that does not compute : )

Seems like this type of weather would have been considered a possibility. If this was the case and the “plan was to postpone because of rain”, it would have been good to let those coming KNOW that might happen. I bet USAC and City of Austin will cover extra lodging and meals costs for attendees. Yeah right. All should be good right?
Actually it will work out, just be a scheduling pain for a good number of folks....but really suck for those who love the chance to race in the muck!

It *may* take place tomorrow, assuming it doesn't rain or they don't change their mind again. Feel awful for our Oregon racers down there!

To be fair, Austin is not setup to handle as much rain as they got. They get about 30 inches of rain a year. And in January if they get any rain, it's light. A friend lives in Manor, about 10 miles outside of Austin and they got nearly 3 inches. Her yard is a pond.
Drainage is not good on the streets, and even less in the parks.
