I'm selling my battle-proven 1992 Legacy Wagon. AWD, 5 speed manual transmission, 218,XXX miles, Blue-ish color, tags good through October, clear title in my name. This car features the 2.2 liter boxer engine which has a strong reputation for reliability, and is often swapped into later Subarus with head gasket issues as well as Vanagons. Ive owned this car for 2 + years, and I believe Im the third owner. The car comes with a giant stack of receipts detailing the service history. Oil changes were done promptly every 3 months.

This car has been extremely reliable, especially considering its age. Were selling because we now have more cars than people in our household.

Being an older car, it has its share of dents, dings, scratches and other assorted mojo. The interior is rough: the previous owner used it as a work vehicle, and was a painter. So, its got some interesting paint stains here and there. They could probably be cleaned off, but I never bothered.

The most recent major repairs include rear struts and new valve cover gaskets. The car was leaking quite a bit of oil when I purchased it, and the new gaskets took care of 95% of that. Its an old Subaru, though, so it does use a bit of oil. This is par for the course and only noticeable after prolonged highway driving. At most I believe we've needed to add a quarter to a half quart between oil changes.

Tires are newer, 1 does not match but has the same circumference as the others so there will be no premature differential wear. Rims are 15 from a newer legacy and will go with the car. I also have 14 steelies with usable tires that could also be swapped for a winter set for going to the mountain, if thats your thing.

For OBRA, Ill also throw in a Yakima roof rack with 2 trays and 6 matching lock cores (1 for each tray, 1 for each tower).

For all of the above, Im looking for $1600.

Car is located in SE Portland.

Pictures available upon request. Thanks for looking.
