2014 Norco Threshold frame/fork. Carbon Fiber (CF)
Deep section CF tubular rims, CF TRP Spyre calipers, Tufo Flexus Cubus tires, Di2 Alfine 8 hub, Beer eccentric BB, SRAM XO crank with wide narrow chainring, Thomson, WTB Silverado.
Pluses: Race a whole season on a single charge. You will never drop a chain, never suffer from a clogged, bent or broken derailleur, never have sticky, dirty shift wires and be able to stop either wheel from turning whenever you want.
Minuses: It's a couple pounds heavier than a derailleured bike. (I never weighed it but if you have to know, I do have a scale) The IGH hub goes "CHUNK!" once in a while but still shifts anyway. If you have a rear flat, it's not a fast wheel change. You may want a bike in the pit. The rear rim was cracked and repaired. The repair is almost invisible.
With road tires, this could be a cool low maintenance commuter or gravel grinder.
All that's required is you be tall and have $2200 spend on a unique CX bike.
$2200 is roughly half the build cost.
Pic on request.
FAQ: Why are you selling it? A: Because I like to buy a new bike every 2 years or so. That way, I can have cutting edge new stuff and my old stuff isn't very old.
