Sweet! I am stoked about any new emerging urban single-track. As a long-time roadie, newbie mountain biker with a large family (who lives and works near O.C., being able to ride locally is super important to me as I don't have the time to go great distances to ride.
Have you captured some of the recent thinking and writing that have been produced as a result of the Riverview fiasco? There have been some good ones. I think in that material (films, blogs, op-ed pieces, etc.) would be very productive in presentation and developing counter-argument to those who bring forth false rhetoric against the use of mountain bikes in urban natural environments as well as to serve to promote how responsible biking and cyclist-involved trail building and maintenance works well. By its very nature as an activity, a mountain biker's interest in trail preservation and harmony with nature is as important as the riding of the trails. Doesn't a fisherman want to take care of the waters that he or she loves to fish?
Anyway, keep up the advocacy! I'm on board.

Subject: [OBRA Chat] Pedal Driven free showing
From: obra@list.obra.org
With all the buzz surrounding the Riverview bike ban this seems like a good time to promote the efforts happening in Oregon City. Newell Creek Canyon is a large, Metro-owned expanse of undeveloped land in the middle of Oregon City. How this natural area will be utilized is still under discussion, but a number of us here are pushing hard to get mountain bikes included in the mix.
One of our PR efforts is a showing of the documentary Pedal Driven. We are fortunate enough to have a great public library that is willing to show this as a part of their first Friday movie series, and the Oregon City cycling community is pushing to get as many people there as possible. It looks like we have representatives from Metro as well as at least part of the Oregon City board of commissioners. Immediately following the movie we will have a group discussion.
This is a free event. Please, come join us. Show your support for urban single track, and see the efforts in Oregon City.
