*Mudslinger Details*

Event starts at 10:10 Rider meeting, reg closes at 9:30....9:45 if you
struggle to get to Blodgett
(20 Minutes West of Corvallis off of HWY 20)

Race temp High 57 with a 20% chance of Rain...Saturday 80% so at least we
will have some mud.

Distances 10 miles or 20

New Course maps posted and this
course after the first 2 miles is completely different this year due to an
Ice storm in November that does not allow me to remove tree's that are
worth alot of money. In normal years there are tree's down but with a
salvage logging crew coming into the Unit in May I needed to get creative.
Combine that with roads that were only cleared in the past 6 weeks has got
me on the bike checking out what is possible.

So for my 20th time putting this on I have to deal with change and a more
scenic version of the Gravel with a bid of chaos at the Mudslinger!

positions the day prior or day of...email volunteer@mudslingerevents.com

*Safety*

We have good cell signals and radio support, sweep riders and a medic at
base but know that if we need to get on course we will and to that extent
you need to be aware that *vehicles could be on course.*
This years course has one 3 mile gravel road sloppy decent back the typical
way you would of climbed the course. Please be aware of the High Center
Curbs that are tall and if you change lanes in some points will take you
down. Also sticks from the Ice storm were in the thousands and most are
gone from the cleanup....but one can ruin your day if hit the wrong way.

2 new sections of singletrack that were used for the Test of Endurance no
longer happening!
1 New section of trail with views of Marys Peak

Please remember that we have an excellent track record at the Mudslinger
with only a few bumps bruises and an occasional collarbone over the 19
years under my direction and I plan to keep it that way with your help! If
someone goes down make sure to check on them!

Kids race at 1:30...simple one lap around the school yard.
Food at 11:45 for all
Custom Awards 3 deep for 25 fields including Fat Bike (Long course) and
Minimum 500.00 in cash at 2pm

up and follow course markings or have never done the event. *

The Course...after the first 2 mile climb on
https://www.strava.com/segments/3770939
Post event prize segment for men and women

We will head down super tree from a different way into supertree trail.
After that we will traverse low rd with not too much climbing
After that comes the Short Course split by Panama Canal.....look for the
large Short Course signs to turn and complete the 10 mile course for all
novice (Cat 3) 19-39 and 40 + Men and women and junior 10-13 and 14-18 men
and women.

>From that point its up up up for the long course with the hardest climb!
A bit of singletrack at the end and an aid station at mile 7 to crawl up
and onto Mowhawk trail.
Off the Mohawk trail you pass the aid station again just after mile 8
before you twist and turn around singletrack until you start the insanely
fast gravel decent to the River and splash splash!
The left lane has less car sized potholes filled with water just so you
know.

Do you know where you are? Well now the stair-step climb awaits to punish
your legs one more time before descending upper panama canal trail and to
the finish. watch the roads when coming out of the gate regardless if a
flagger is present.

Right now this course will have 3000 ft of climbing so it will be
fast....the trails may be a bit slower so overall expect times to be 5
minutes slower than last year for the long course and 5-10 quicker for the
short course.

See u soon
