OBRA State XC Champs Saturday 8/8 at Alsea falls

Hello

Time this Saturday to roll around on some of the best trails in the state
at Alsea Falls

This event is a bit later than most peoples racing plans and I hope you can
attend.

I wanted to make sure all of you understand the categories for state that
Kenji and the staff at OBRA have worked on over the past 5-6 years with me
that I love. Also we do like the State Champs as a separate event to avoid
65 categories for results if combined with a typical Ability and age group
that you will find at most events.
With that being said we have 30 total and juniors in 2 year age groups that
I hope you will support as a last MTB event prior to CX season beside the
MT Ashland Hillclimb later this month!

While these categories do not combine ability with age they do offer a
unique opportunity to compete against your ability group or against your
peer group for the State Championships!

As a special treat Whistle Punk will be in this event as well as the lower
section dubbed Sexy Tree....its new and technical so whatever climbing
advantage can lost and or please be careful if you do not know the lines as
the rider in front of you may not either and good communication is critical
for the safety of you or the racers you are with. With Dry conditions
injuries have happened and we will have 2 medic on site that I do not wish
to use.

See website for staging info and maps...course being marked by Wednesday.
Please watch your speed anytime riding as you may encounter slower riders
on course

Please allow 3 hrs from PDX and be careful on the road climbing to the
Falls....very curvy...like the course

Registration the day of is 5.00 more so sign up now and we will see u this
Saturday

Thanks to Team Dirt "A Chapter of IMBA" on the work on these amazing
trails. 5.00 from every rider goes to the trail system. Also all pre reg
can have BBQ and beverages after so sign up so I can plan..thanks! Please
donate onsite if you can as well so we can continue to build!

Also Juniors that are advanced can race the am 7 mile loop with 2 year
categories which for some is short, and race the Junior Expert race for 16
miles at 11:30 for an add on of 10.00
