It was used in Double Cross in 2012. If you want to see some pics from the
Sunday race (that may or may not have anything to what is used next
weekend) check these out...

Parts of the course (from my perspective) were really fun and worked well for the races. Some of the areas of single track were fun to ride, but pretty limiting for passing. There was a very good run up that I would hope was used again even though I do not like run ups. No real grass like the groomed lawns we have on some courses, but some mowed areas more like bumpy and at times rocky surfaces. There is some sand that really a blast! It is right next to the river same as Barton. There are similarities between Cascade Locks, Barton and Camp Harlow (Psycho Cross) because of flood plain location. My one suggestion is to put the largest volume tire possible on to help eat some of the bumps....and just realize the course will be the same for every rider on it. I plan on being there with my old beat up body unless I have dropped dead by then. The Crusade wizards have made super fun courses in much worse locations than the Easy Climb area of Cascade Locks. My feeling is they will make it quite a fun time.

Yes. Cross races (2) have taken place there. A couple of years ago the
Hood River (high school) was not available so Jeff held the two days at this
site. Parts of the course (from my perspective) were really fun and worked
well for the races. Some of the areas of single track were fun to ride, but
pretty limiting for passing. There was a very good run up that I would hope
was used again even though I do not like run ups. No real grass like the
groomed lawns we have on some courses, but some mowed areas more like bumpy
and at times rocky surfaces. There is some sand that really a blast! It is
right next to the river same as Barton. There are similarities between
Cascade Locks, Barton and Camp Harlow (Psycho Cross) because of flood plain
location. My one suggestion is to put the largest volume tire possible on
to help eat some of the bumps....and just realize the course will be the
same for every rider on it. I plan on being there with my old beat up body
unless I have dropped dead by then. The Crusade wizards have made super fun
courses in much worse locations than the Easy Climb area of Cascade Locks.
My feeling is they will make it quite a fun time.

Have they ever had CX at this venue? Any info on what the course might be
like (mostly grass, mostly dirt, mostly gravel?). Flat or hilly? Expect a
run up? Trying to decide if it will be worth a two hour drive.

Totally new course. Not what was used before. The Crusade does a great job on making things interesting. They plan to post a lot of information about this new one.

Depends on what category you are racing. Actually, never mind, you shouldn't come.. ;)
