I hope you are ready for a super exciting PIR weekend!
Last week at Barton many of you showed your support for our teammate Kim
Matheson by wearing GREEN (any shade) t-shirts during your race. That was
an amazing sign of support! We are hoping that folks will join us again
this weekend by forgoing your team's jersey for one race day and instead
wearing Kim's GREEN. You will certainly get Big Cheers from the KimMongers,
plus word has it that Kim is coming to one of the races.
Kim's story: Kim is an active Obra racer, she is a long time member of The
Beermongers Cycle Club and Team S&M * LeFemes. Kim was first diagnosed with
melanoma in June, 2014 and has been battling it since. She wishes she could
be out in the mud racing her bike but these days she will be cheering and
heckling from behind the tape.
Also, Portland Design Works (PDW) has arranged a "photo/video booth" on
Saturday from Noon to 4pm where people can take photos and leave video
messages for Kim. ALL are welcome to come by for a post-race mud photo, tell
Kim something about why you came to race at PIR, talk about your race, etc.
The tent will have PDW's logos on it so it should be easy to find. The
goal is to pull together as much of the CXC PIR awesomeness and send some
mad love to Kim.
