Gluing over tape adhesive

Matt - so I'm curious about this "Belgian method," though. I wouldn't bother with carbon/deeper section rims with recessed eyelets, but for short-section alloy rims with eyelets in the rim bed, I suddenly see huge benefit in building up and smoothing out the rim bed for improved adhesion....?? Right? I'm assuming that's the reason behind it..

I do one each rim and tire, then re-wet the rim before mounting.. broom handle entire rim, inflate to 20psi, let cure up for an hour+ before ride

Seems going over this tape residue did NOT work... 12 hours later (Mastik is at full cure at 8), the glue is like fresh chewed gum. Tire pulls off the rim in a sticky mess. F'ING RETARDED.

The best and easiest way to clean old glue or tape off of rims is using a heat gun.

The gluing method I use, includes putting glue over belgian tape,

so I don't think a little tape residue would be a problem

Anyone ever glued over tape adhesive stuck to a tire pulled from a taped rim? Some milky white tacky bullshit that won't clean off.... so I'm just gonna Mastik One over it. Recipe for death?
