Barton Park Circuit Race Call to the Ladies

Sarah Tisdale

2016-04-21

I'll express a different opinion. I didn't race WallaWalla and didn't race
Barton Circuit race either, so it wasn't conflicting races for me.

For me, that hill is just too dang steep for me to have any credible chance
at racing (or even helping a teammate).

Not sure if others share my view, but that's why I didn't race it. I did
make the drive to race both Cherry Pie and Kings Valley. It would be great
to have a close-to-home race, but that dang hill for me is a no-go.

Hi, Matt -

I just want to speak on behalf of the women racers in OBRA, Molly Cameron's comment was right. The OBRA women's field was a little small due to the overlapping of events [tour of walla-walla].

If we look at your numbers, you had 17 ladies.

Dirty circles for the big cash payout was 28 [dirty circles #2]

Kings Valley had 33.

I looked at the registration notes for Tour of Walla-Walla and 12 women from Oregon went up there to race.

If these ladies had stayed home, that would have possibly put your women's event number at 29 - on par with all the other events in the PNW.

So to say people are unwilling to leave the city limits is kind-of-unfair.

Where was I? It was my birthday weekend, and I had it off.

I hope you continue to support women's racing; every race helps grows the sport for women and everyone who rides a bike.

Cheers
Norrene

Ladies,
I must confess, I'm having a little trouble with this email. How do I get more of you out there?
We had a tiny total of 17 women; 9 senior women and 8 cat 4/5 women.
I had women ask me to open up the Master's field to cat 3 Masters so I did and I didn't get one single Masters racer out there. What gives?
I know Walla Walla was the same weekend but isn't there more than 17 women that can come out to race?
I almost hate to ask if I did this or did that if I could get more women out there but I did what I was asked for the Masters and nobody came to play.
Is there a field structure that would work where I could get you out there, say:
Cat 1/2/3 and Master's 1/2/3 run togther scored separately?
Cat 4/5 and Master's 4/5 run together scored separately?

Help me out and tell me what I need to do. We can take it don't worry about our feelings. We want you out there.
