Fw: North Tualatin Mountains update

For those of you who provided input during the process and or will use the trails that will be built, here is good news and THANKS! Thanks as well to Metro Council for doing the right thing.
Remember. Showing respect for all users when out on the trails (and as advocacy) will go a long way toward the Metro area getting more off road bike access.
If we are jerks on bikes, it just gives opponents more reasons to prevent opening more natural surface riding. Our behaviors are most important.
Thanks to all.

Partners and community members,

We are excited to share the news that Metro Council unanimously voted to adopt the North Tualatin Mountains Access Master Plan last Thursday. Your participation and support helped us reach this important milestone. The plan will guide development of trails and visitor amenities while supporting clean water, healthy wildlife habitat and ongoing restoration.

The final master plan and information about the site can be found on Metro’s website at oregonmetro.gov/tualatinmountains. Thank you for sharing your time, thoughts and ideas with us during the planning process. We will continue to send periodic updates through the next phase of project implementation – design and permitting. We hope to start construction in summer of 2017. Whether you’re a neighbor, a hiker, a cyclist, a conservation advocate or some combination of those, you’re an important part of Metro’s work going forward.

>From the views of the Cascade peaks and the Coast Range to the four streams to the Douglas-fir forests, so iconic in Oregon to the wildlife that live here – we are excited to move one step closer to inviting the community to visit, share and help take care of this special place together.

Thank you,

Olena Turula
