You obra members with young ones get this survey filled out please.....Let them know that you want places for the young and the old to ride off road right here in Portland....If you don’t take the time to be heard, well what do we get to ride? Stuff 1 to 2 hours away. Sweet huh?

PORTLAND OFF-ROAD CYCLING MASTER PLAN

Project Updates
May 2016

HELP DEFINE THE FUTURE OF OFF-ROAD CYCLING IN PORTLAND

The Portland Off-road Cycling Master Plan project is seeking broad public input to help identify Portlander’s needs for a variety of off-road cycling experiences. Your input will be part of a community needs assessment for off-road cycling facilities, the next step in the planning process. This needs assessment will inform the citywide plan for a system of off-road cycling opportunities.
This spring and summer, the Bureau of Planning and Sustainability (BPS) is providing a variety of ways for Portland residents to get involved and share their ideas and feedback:
a.. Fill out an online questionnaire about off-road cycling needs and priorities.
b.. Look for the project booth at upcoming Sunday Parkways and other events.
You can visit the project’s booth at the East Portland Sunday Parkways this Sunday, May 15th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Ed Benedict Park, across from the bike skills park.
At the June 26th North Portland Sunday Parkways, the project booth will be located on south side of Kenton Park near the bike skills park.
c.. Keep an eye out for the launch of an interactive online mapping tool.
d.. Check out the Off-road Cycling Master Plan website to explore the project’s vision, an inventory of existing places to ride off-road in Portland, and the many types of off-road cycling trails and facilities.
e.. Send the project team an email at offroadcycling@portlandoregon.gov with questions or general comments.

PROJECT ADVISORY COMMITTEE UPDATE

The Project Advisory Committee for the Off-road Cycling Master Plan has met monthly since January 2016. Summaries and audio recordings of each meeting are available on the project website. At their April 28th meeting, the Advisory Committee focused on community engagement, discussing outreach techniques and target communities to get input on off-road cycling needs from as broad and diverse a population as possible.
The next Advisory Committee meeting will be held May 26th at 4 p.m. The Advisory Committee will learn about ecological conditions in the City, potential ecological impacts of off-road cycling facilities, and best management practices to prevent impacts. Project Advisory Committee agendas and meeting materials are posted online one week prior to each Committee meeting. Meeting summaries and audio recordings will be available approximately one week after each meeting. Dates and times for future meetings are listed on the project calendar.
