If I was racing Portland Short Track Series 2016....

I would pre-register online AND
Show up at the HUB Friday night and pick up my plate (beer and burger sounds good too!)
OR
I would show up at the HUB and pre-register AND pick up my plate
OR
Pre-register by Saturday at noon and pick up my plate on Monday (race 1 of the series)
OR
I would do non of these things and fill out forms, bring money, stand in line, pick up my plate on Monday
AND
Race Portland Short Track starting Monday, June 7th!!!

Mel ;o)
PS. Kris is still looking for some volunteers so if you want to race for free and volunteer email Kris Schamp asap. (see below)

Subject: [OBRA Chat] Portland Short Track Series 2016 - Series Passes & Volunteering

Hello, everyone!

We are less than 3 weeks away from the start of the 12th edition of the Portland Short Track Series and I want to pass along a couple updates:

- The update race flyer with all the details is posted at http://www.portlandracing.com/info.html
- Like previous years, the series will run for 8 weeks - from June 6 through Aug 1 - with a mid-series break on the 4th of July, when we'll swap our weekly dose of short track madness for a full day of MTB endurance race fun at the Six Hours of Mount Hood (on Sunday July 3).
- Race categories and race schedule will be the same as last year.
- Online registration for both the series and the 6 Hours is open now, with entry fees the same as last year.
- You can purchase your Short Track Series Pass online at http://www.portlandracing.com/series-pass-2016.html.
- With a series pass you will not only save time and money on race day (once you have a pass, you can just come out and race, no pre-start check-in required), but you will also enjoy a weekly priority call-up at the start of your category (in the order you have registered). To top it off, every series pass holder will receive a FREE Short Track pint glass and your name will get entered in our weekly raffle of a bunch of cool prizes (even the weeks that you end up not racing).
- You can also register online for select short track races through OBRA. Just click the register button showing next to the event on the OBRA calendar (http://obra.org/schedule/2016/calendar#june).
- To register online for the Six Hours of Mt Hood, go to http://www.portlandracing.com/6hrs/registration.html (early bird registration runs through May 31 and saves you $10 off the day-of-race entry fee).
- Also, make sure to mark Friday June 3 on your calendar, when we're hosting a Short Track race plate pick up night at Hopworks Urban Brewery's Bike Bar (on N Williams Ave) from 6 to 9pm. Our registration crew will be on-site selling series passes and single-race
entries and first-time Short Track racers will enjoy a special newbie discount (Series Pass: $20 OFF/ first-race entry fee: $10 OFF), just by showing up. And there will be a Short Track beer special!
- VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! As always, we need a bunch of volunteers throughout the series to make it all happen. If you are interested and available to help out - in exchange for a FREE SERIES PASS - just email me at kris@portlandracing.com. Open volunteer slots will get filled on a first-come, first-serve basis, with preference going to racers who are able to volunteer on all or most race dates.

That's it for now. If you have any questions, just drop me a line!

Cheers,
~Kris
