Clydesdale is gone as a CX category?

There are CRUSADA sanctioned methods to meet the Clyde weight requirement
that involve USDA approved Bacon and Ham Steaks via duct tape (and other
possibilities). Of course this is not OBRA sanctioned and probably frowned
upon by the GP, Psycho and other CX series.
As and added incentive to bring more diversity into the CX ranks maybe
"America's Lightest Gainer" could be a new Cat.? An idea might be a 20%
body weight gain from previous weeks race. Although Mike... I remember the
call of the Clydes was... "Trample. Trample. Trample." Pony Clydes would
need to be careful on the course.
Much to think about at the Rules Meeting.
The smell of Bacon being grilled wafting across the course in "Tent Row" is
quite a treat. It also reminds us how much commitment is required for a
Clyde to stay at top racing weight. They are a special breed.

Mike,

Speaking as a returning Clydesdale this year, I'm not opposed to a "my
little pony" category run at the same time as the Clydesdale category.
A horse is a horse, of course.

Sorry, I couldn't help myself.

get in with my current overweight BMI of 26. Just another case of sizeism.

Correct. Clyde and Singlespeed are not ability based categories- but based
on weight or gearing. And yes, promoters could break it out by category if
need be so we could make a Coker class. :P

Bahahahaahahaa! Any promoters want to take that?

Or a Doughnut Uphill TT sponsored by Voodoo Doughnuts and Alpenrose
Dairy. Doughnut every mile plus a half glass of milk.

How about opening Clydes to more disciplines,  like an uphill TT, every 5 lbs over 220 gives you a time bonus

Correct.  Clyde and Singlespeed are not ability based categories- but
based on weight or gearing. And yes, promoters could break it out by
category if need be so we could make a Coker class.  :P

Clyde and SS are still race categories...like Masters or Juniors. They are not racer categories...like Cat 2 or Cat C or Novice. So a Clyde race category could have several different categories of racers in it...like a master's race could be Cat 1/2/3.

Clydesdale (according to OBRA, trust me, I still make the cut).

Please tell me this is an oversight.
