Some people have questions about the gravel/dirt section of Stage 1 of the BCCC. It's mostly dirt with some loose gravel. Nothing that you're going to sink into. It's smoother than most of the gravel sections of Gorge Roubaix.
I personally ride it regularly on both racing and training wheel sets. I use either a 700x25 or 700x26 tire at 100psi. I know locals that ride 700x23 and they have no problems.
It starts at approximately 23.1 miles into the course and ends at 24.9. There are two YouTube videos on our FB page for you to see the start and finish of that section.
Two more days to get registered for the great race Nathan Hobson started and we've continued to host for 15 years now.
