[OBRA Race] Monday Night Bike Race Series - It's a

First- a big shout out to Jim for promoting Monday PIR. Thank you Jim!

Yes- it's a region-wide problem. There's been a massive influx of
people and travel times are becoming atrocious. Some state agencies
are advising their personnel to allot 2 hours from Salem to Portland
when they have meetings up there. Even on weekends, I-5 is becoming
congested on a consistent basis.

ODOT and the Governor are fully aware of the problem and are making it
a priority for the next legislative session. It's not only us bike
racers but almost all sectors that are negatively impacted by the
congestion.

*Vancouver-bound traffic* claims another victim.

Fixed it. :-)

Seriously, though, thats definitely the reason I had to stop coming in August: a looming deadline for work just didnt allow for the leave Forest Grove by 3pm in order to have any time to warm up before racing song and dance. :-(

Still, I hope another promoter will take it over; its been a fun couple of years racing with the same bunch every Monday.

Also, THANK YOU, Jim, for keeping it going as long as you did.

May not just be CX claiming a victim.

I for one won't spend such a large amount of time traveling the relatively
short distance that takes more and more time to drive. What used to be
about 35 minutes on a slow day now extends to 1.5 hours. Sure, I could
ride to and from, something I have done, but that's not always an option.
