First- a big shout out to Jim for promoting Monday PIR. Thank you Jim!
Yes- it's a region-wide problem. There's been a massive influx of
people and travel times are becoming atrocious. Some state agencies
are advising their personnel to allot 2 hours from Salem to Portland
when they have meetings up there. Even on weekends, I-5 is becoming
congested on a consistent basis.
ODOT and the Governor are fully aware of the problem and are making it
a priority for the next legislative session. It's not only us bike
racers but almost all sectors that are negatively impacted by the
congestion.
