Hello!

Just some last minute details to go over. Thanks to OBRA for the support of
this event and to Oregon Coast Bank our Title Sponsor!

dress and prepare yourself!

Venue Map.
...feel
free to park in town if you want also as the venue is within 2 minutes of
most anywhere in town at 200 S Crestline off of HWY 34 as you come into
town on HWY 34 from Corvallis. Follow the Cones into the grassy field and
park in an organized manner

If you are coming in from 101 Turn left or right at W Hemlock which is
Alsea HWY 34

Packet pickup today at GrandCentral Pizza in Waldport 1-5:30
More packet pickup in the am from 7am until 8am with the start at 8:30 from
the OLD waldport HS.
(No buildings at this site, just some pavement and open field)

The course
Tough...to say the least! Yes 60% roads and 40% Gravel, but with no
flaggers except to get into Reed 3 miles from the start you need to be
aware that hunters and some residential traffic can and will occur. Stop
signs are present at 3-4 locations that you need to obey please.

Also the start of any event can be dicey...so call out passes, say thanks
and until you get to mile 6 its insanity in a Gravel way!

71 miles and close to 9K in Climbing for the abomination route which splits
left at Aid Station 1. The Son of Abomination is 3500 ft of Climbing and 37
miles and just right to take in the sights and get back in 3 hrs or so. The
split for this route is at aid 1 also right at the aid station.

Aid 1 mile 13.9 Green Bike Co-op

Aid 2 Mile 34 Abomination only Waldport HS (NO Porta Potie) hard right off
pavement
PB and J, Bananas and Honey Stinger Chews

Aid 3 Mile 28/58 hard right off pavement Umpqua bank...special donuts and
Ice Cream

Water and Hammer Heed also

If you have a special food need....bring a zip lock bag and label it and we
will bring it to Aid 2 for the Abomination course. Justin will be around in
the am if you drop it with him by 8am at the venue

Also we have 3 agencies including Central Coast Fire, Yachats and a Hamm
Radio group taking care of you. With that being said, the remote nature of
this event and the need to rescue you in the direction of the course means
the downhills are not easy to access in the case of an emergency.

Cell phones barely work and hunters will be out previewing the upcoming
hunting season. Combine this with massive potholes, shad, falling autumn
leaves and random acts from animals and you have the Oregon Coast Gravel
Epic.

When Finishing enjoy a Yachats Brewing beer (Over 21) and use your bib tear
off ticket for your meal from Hilltop Bistro.

Thanks to Oregon Coast Bank for the support of this event!

We have a Custom plate that has your timing chip on it...so dont lose it.
Also to save you some time download this OBRA waiver and fill out the
basics...emergency contact, your name, route chosen, Abomination or Son of
Abomination and bring to packet pickup.

Remember this is the Final event in the OTC series and all of you are
invited to the OTC party for all OTC participants on November 5th at
Tacovore...OTC series finishers get all the glory, but we want to see you
again! I hear local Eugene Velo and others may be organizing a cool ride
that am and cool down after with friends on 11/5 starting at 1pm

Travel safe

Thanks for the support

Mike
