Oregon - Tucson High School Cyclist Exchange

Quinn Keogh

2016-10-17

Please visit azorexcycling.blogspot.com for complete details.

The objective of this exchange is to give high school aged cyclists the opportunity to meet other riders their own age, travel to a different and interesting part of the country, and train or race during a time of year where their home climate is challenging. It's an opportunity for young cyclists to get a taste of the snowbird lifestyle! As a partnership between El Grupo Cycling of Tucson and Quinn Keogh Coaching of Portland, it makes sense for the Northwest riders to head south in the winter and the Tucsonans to travel north in the summer. Read on to learn more specifics. And please fill out the Interested Parents' Response Form found in the menu above.

The general policy of this program is that exchange parents will coordinate directly with each other. After we know you are interested we will contact you and pair your family with one in the other region. The role of El Grupo and Quinn is to get the ball rolling, help with logistics when possible, make sure the rider's are paired well, etc. There is no financial element to this program, travel and other costs are to be assumed by each rider's parents/guardians. It is expected that families will care for exchange children as they would their own and should expect the same in return. There is also no requirement that the exchange be reciprocal - if your child would like to host a rider but would not like to travel at a later date that is fine.

Dates:
WINTER - Monday December 26th through Monday January 2nd.
SUMMER - TBD, but most likely the second week July, just prior to Cascade Cycling Classic in Bend OR.
