Dear OBRA,

I wanted to send out a quick update on developments for the 2017 Gorge
Roubaix Races for Saturday April 1st (one day of racing). A huge thanks to
Castelli for increasing their support, which was already huge, as well as
Cousins Country Inn, Clocktower Ales, and a very generous donation from
Evoluation Racing Team we are up to $3700 in sponsorship support out of the
$5000 needed. We have also had 4 people people to volunteer for the event
out of the 20 needed. So it is up to the rest of you to make this event
happen. Many of you have told me how important this event is to you and
your team yet I have not heard back from you when it comes to supporting
it. Now is your chance to assure another race happens on the OBRA
schedule! Click on this link to see the amazing video Kenji shot at last
year's Gorge Roubaix race. 2016 Gorge Roubaix
. Is this race worth a bit
of your time? You tell me. We are in need of volunteer drivers, and if
you are wanting to race we can use volunteers for setup and tear down as
well as registration which allow you to volunteer and still jump in and
race. Each volunteer will be given a shirt and pint glass. We will make a
final decision by February 1st on the event unless we meet our support
goals earlier than that.

Oregon Gravel Grinder registration is in full swing and we are excited at
how many people have registered. This is going to be a fun and challenging
series of events. If you are a racer and think that a gravel grinder is
beneath you I would ask you to reconsider. First the courses we have laid
out are very challenging and will still be timed allowing you to compete
with others that are riding in the event. Challenge yourself on tougher
courses than you will find in any of the traditional road races across the
Northwest. True you do not have the exhilaration of hearing the massive
pile up behind you and the excitement of hitting the gas to leave all those
poor riders behind. Nor the opportunity to breath exhaust from caravan
vehicles, nor the opportunity to have a fellow rider crash you out
destroying your bike and season. Still we are offering very challenging
courses, with amazing roads, views and technical descents. All these
things are pretty cool and even better when you add an awesome lunch and
beer waiting for you after your hard ride.

We still have a few more discounted registrations available so if you are
ready for the challenge sign up at www.oregongravelgrinder.com. For
individual events use the promo code GRAVEL when registering for $10 off.
Tough enough for the entire series? Then use the promo code GRAVELSERIES
and get $30 off. In addition Cousins Country Inn is offering incredible
discounts on lodging. We will have packet pickup at the hotel for your
convenience as well. Just give them a call to make sure you have a room.
Their number is 541-298-5161 <(541)%20298-5161>. Make sure and like us on
