Thank you, Ivan, much appreciated!

Hello Kenji,

As Ivan said, I am seeking male endurance athletes to participate in my
dissertation project. I am investigating energy availability in male
athletes. There has been extensive research conducted on this topic in
women, but very little in male athletes, so I am trying to capture the
regular habits of these athletes. If you could share the information with
your team, contacts it would be greatly appreciated. They will be asked to
answer a short survey and complete 3-day diet and training records (with
forms provided). Any athlete who completes the study has the option to
receive a personalized energy availability report. Below is the pitch you
can share with them if you are willing.

I appreciate your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Amy

Eligible participants will be male endurance athletes (i.e., runners,
cyclists, triathletes) at least 18 years of age or older. If you
participate, you’ll be asked to complete an online questionnaire and
complete 3-day dietary and training logs. The logs will be used to
calculate energy availability: energy intake (diet log) minus exercise
energy expenditure (training log). An individualized report will be
provided back to you about your personal energy status. At the end of the
questionnaire there will be an option to request your report.

I truly appreciate your efforts in this endeavor. If you would like more
information, please do not hesitate to contact me at either my email or
office phone (both listed below).

Your participation is much appreciated!

Amy
