Great turnout last week!

PDX cyclists- I encourage you to please invite your friends and share this post to your page!

The Sauvie Shootout, a spirited weekly group ride, is intended to meet the diverse needs of cyclists in PDX including CAT 1/2/3/4/5 racers as well as club riders and Masters. I am offering my signature double-your-money-back guarantee if you are not completely satisfied.

We will depart at 10 AM from Ovation Coffee in The Pearl. This will be very similar to the Upper Echelon ride of years past.

Please vote whether you prefer this ride take place each week on Saturday or Sunday: https://www.facebook.com/events/431174827229223/?active_tab=discussion

In the unfortunate event of a flat on Hwy 30, the group will continue on. Please go counterclockwise on Sauvie until you see the group approaching, then turn around to jump back in.

Down in Tucson there is a weekly ride called the Shootout thats been going on since 1974. Lots of pros come down to train there in the winter and the Shootout is a hard, fast race simulation on many weeks. For slower riders, there is a pre-shootout group that leaves from the same location 15 minutes prior to the standard Shootout.
One great benefit is that the Shootout follows the same route each week. Stay with me here- it is ANYTHING but boring. Riders get shelled from the Shootout every single week, but they keep coming back and try to make it a few more miles before falling off the next week. It will stoke the fire in the belly to train harder and do better the next week. The sense of cycling community a consistent ride like this creates is incredible.

Please share the word and come out to ride/race with us!

We had a great first week last Saturday. Hope you join us tomorrow and bring your friends.

I'm working to start a spirited weekly group ride - The Sauvie Shootout. I'm trying to gauge preference in Saturday vs. Sunday going forward - please voice your preference by going to the Facebook Event Page: https://www.facebook.com/events/431174827229223/permalink/432252073788165/

Fantastic idea - OBRA is very much in need of rides like this!

T-town also has a spirited ride like this as well.

Cheers
