I have been volunteering with the Community Cycling Center (http://www.communitycyclingcenter.org/) on NE Alberta to repair and refurbish childrens bicycles that will be donated next Christmas holiday season to local children whose families cannot otherwise afford a bike. This weekend the CCC is partnering with REI. Donate your bike (any bike) and make it a vehicle for change!

All four Portland-area REI stores are hosting a bike drive on Sunday, April 23rd from 10AM - 3PM (https://www.rei.com/events/community-cycling-center-bike-drive/portland/140411 ). Bring in any bike in good condition and help the Community Cycling Center broaden access to bicycling and its benefits.

The Community Cycling Center is a 501c3 nonprofit organization. All donations are tax-deductible to the extent of the law. Also, bring in a bike during the bike drive, and receive a 20% off REI coupon. All FOUR Portland area stores are participating; Clackamas, Hillsboro, Portland and Tualatin.

I will be volunteering at the Tualatin location across the street from Bridgeport Village this Sunday between 10am and 1pm.

The Community Cycling Center to build a vibrant community where people of all backgrounds use bicycles to stay healthy and connected. The CCC believes that all Portlandersregardless of income or backgroundshould have the opportunity to experience the joy, freedom, and health benefits of bicycling.

The CCC runs an annual bike camp for kids in grades 1-8 to help them learn how to ride safely and maintain their bikes in a supportive, hands-on environment. The CCC also hosts an annual Holiday Bike Drive that provides over 300 children with a safe refurbished bicycle, new helmets, and basic safety education each year.

If you have any questions about the bike drive or about the CCC, please feel free to give me a call.
