Hey OBRA land just wanted to make sure you saw this article posted Friday to bikeportland.org: https://bikeportland.org/2017/05/12/help-someone-see-cycling-tandem-captains-needed-asap-for-blind-rider-program-228388

The Washington State School for the Blind (WSSB) is in desperate need of tandem captains for an event this this afternoon (5/15).
This is an excellent way to recognize National Bike Month and help a local organization get more people involved with cycling.

They are in desperate need of tandem captains for 18 blind or sight impaired students who have signed up for the Monday; May 15th ride. If you are interested in making a students day, please help us out, and plan to participate. These are relatively easy rides, and most anyone who cycles regularly will have no problem captaining one of these students. Many of them have previously ridden in the stoker (passenger) position. We have had several first-time tandem captains who have all had awesome experiences with their blind and low vision partners.

Bring your own tandem or ride one provided by the WSSB. Today's ride will be an easy 12 miles with a stop for snacks and water. Meet at the WSSB offices at 3:00pm located at Washington State School for the Blind in Vancouver, WA at 3:00 p.m. The address is 2214 E 13th Street; Vancouver, WA 98661

Contact Adrienne Fernandez at WSSB 360-947-3290 If you are interested. If you can't make today's ride, fill out the volunteer application and captain a bike at a future event. The school typically hosts a tandem ride once a week in the late spring and early fall.

This is a great way to put your bike handling skillz and watts per kilo to great use.
