With all the rainy weather, it has been a tough road to getting the
velodrome painted this season.

We had initially planned to close the track for a couple of days this
weekend to paint, but we are now facing doing most of the patching and
painting this weekend. We have contracted the dairy's sign painter to
re-do the Alpenrose signs on the track, and he required extra contiguous
days, so we have added Friday, Saturday, and Tuesday to the closure.

Yes, that means the track will be closed for racing this Friday, all
weekend, and closed still for racing next Tuesday. That's May 19-23.

One the one hand, we will have perfect weather for track repairs. It is
really awful timing that this is the first really nice weekend we've had
for racing and training.

I am really sorry for the late notice. We knew the dates last week, but
didn't confirm with everyone on the committee until last night at the
monthly meeting.
