Hey Guys,

We have been in touch consistently with ODOT on the plowing and opening of
McKenzie Pass as our super rad ride the High Desert Gravel Grinder is
schedule to make it to the top next week. Latest and greatest is the road
is close to motor traffic but you can easily skirt the gate and ride all
the way up to within a quarter mile of the Observatory. Crews will be back
up on May 31st working to finish plowing to the top. That said the west
side crew that plows from McKenzie Bridge up has not gotten going and so it
is still going to be a while before you can ride up and over the whole
way. Latest projections are another 2 weeks for bikes and possibly not
till July for motorist. That said if we see the temps getting as high as
they have been this past week that could speed things up. Next week they
have to literally dig through some 30 foot deep snowbanks. It is going to
be an epic site next week for the High Desert Gravel Grinder!!!

Saw this on fb this morning:

"Emailed ODOT this morning and received this response: West side isn���������t plowed hardly at all, and we stopped short of Dee Wright Observatory on the east. Not looking to see the highway open for cycles until mid June."

Does anyone know about the conditions starting from west end and going to Sisters? I was planning on dropping some riders off on the west side and meeting them in Sisters on Sunday but if the route is not passable by then we will obviously have to re-think the ride. Thanks, Jon
