We now have 16 people registered for the race! Don't wait for
day-of-registration, as prices go up.

We just 10 days away from the 2017 edition of the OBRA Hillclimb Time Trial
Championships taking place on Mount Hood. This is part of the 2017 OBRA
Time Trial Cup, and since this is a State Championship Race, it is worth
double points!

An update on the road......

I spoke with the Forest Service and they tell me the road is scheduled to
open to the public on July 10th or 11th at the latest. Timberline also told
me that the road does have snow in 2 spots, about 6in-1ft deep, which they
plan to plow on the 8th or 9th if they are not melted off at that point, so
that the road can open on the 10th or 11th. They have some maintenance that
they are taking care of, so that is the reason for the road still being
closed, not so much the small amount of snow. I spent 6 hours on the
mountain today and cleaned over 3 miles of the 5.6 mile course. I cleaned
3-4 feet worth of the right hand side of the road. The course will get
additional cleaning and the entire course will have at least 3-4 feet of
the road cleaned by race day.

* The 2017 edition use the same course as in the past, almost 6 miles of
uphill fun, and your finish line is once again right in front of the lower
ski lodge.

* Medals for top 3 in each category who are OBRA Annual Members.

* As always we will have a truck to carry gear to the top for you so you
are equipped for your descent of the mountain, water and gatorade at the
finish to fill up your water bottles, and some snacks as well.

* We have be working with Timberline to prep the course like we did last
year and will have white markings on the ground to warn you of potholes and
other issues, as well as making the hard left turn off the service road to
the last section of road clean and smooth as possible.

Online Registration is open. Take advantage of pre-reg prices and sign up
before July 15th. It also allows you to not have to drive to the mountain
early to register and then sit around for a long time before you race.
Registering ahead also helps us plan ahead.

Day of registration will be available and we will be able to accept cash,
checks, and debit/credit cards!

*We were able to get up to the mountain this past week and look at the
first small section of the road, since there is still some snow scattered
on the course and the gate was locked, but things look good in the areas we
were able to see. We will have a clear course and hopefully the rain will
be gone by mid-july.
