Mt. Hood Grinder Info Final Updates

Good Morning Northwest Racers!

Just a couple of updates for the Mt. Hood Grinder ride this Saturday.
First we are removing the word gravel from the title of this ride going
forward since we only have 12% gravel on the Big Grinder course and 2% on
the Medium and Small courses. We have received some emails from very
passionate gravel riders who felt this was false advertising and
disrespecting the gravel. So going forward we will refer to this as the
Mt. Hood Grinder.

What this course lacks in gravel it more than makes up for with some of the
most epic single lane forest service roads that take you way deep into the
Mt. Hood National Forest. Nearly 60% of the entire course is no wider than
a standard bike path. Climbs are amazing and descents are crazy awesome.
Scenery is breath taking and traffic is non existent on these sections. It
is truly a special course and one that you can find no were else in the
U.S.

We are excited to have Spin Catering providing a delicious post ride lunch
and well stocked aid stations. We also have the crew from Mt. View
providing mechanical support to keep you rolling!

Registration is open online until 10 PM tonight. We also have registration
at Friday's Packet Pickup at Mt. View Cycles in Hood River from 4-7. Sign
up then and avoid the dreaded $5 day of late fee. Finally we have
registration at race day packet pickup in Parkdale, Oregon from 8-10 AM.

Final important note. With the weather looking so very sunny and warm on
Saturday we are giving the Big Grind riders the option to do an 8:30 AM
start instead of the original 10:00 AM start. This only applies to Big
Grinder riders and Small and Medium will need to start at 10:00 AM if they
want an official time and aid stations to be open.

Look forward to seeing you on Saturday!

Sincerely,
Chad and Breakaway Crew
