Hello, everyone!
We are in the home stretch of the 2017 Portland Short Track Series (3 more weeks left of Short Track fun!) and so far the races have been a blast. If you haven't made it out yet, we definitely hope you'll come out tonight and give it a shot. It's the best way to kick-start your week!
Here are some updates ahead of tonight's STXC race # 6:
1) NEW! - Short Track Wheelie Night p/b breadwinner Cycles
Tonight, we continue putting the FUN in Short Track racing with our all-new Short Track Wheelie Night, brought to you by Breadwinner Cycles! The plan is simple: today's course will feature a designated "Breadwinner Wheelie Zone" (located in the area under the trees, after you exit the motocross course) where riders are encouraged to perform their best wheelie, with the chance of getting the stamp of approval of the Breadwinner Wheelie Jury and win prizes! After your race, just go to the Wheelie Zone to see if your attempt made the honor roll and and stay around to cheer on the wheelie-ing racers in the next race heats.
2) Our 2017 "Casual Summer" contest winners are in!
Last Monday's Summer Casual Race Outfit Contest presented by Portland Design Works drew another great crowd of racers who shed the lycra or sported some truly casual race outfits. We saw some great outfits that ran the gamut from stylish & cute to wild & risqu��. 4) Get Ready for the Series Grand Finale & Ultra Short Track Team Relay!
That's right, we're just over two weeks away from our traditional Series Grand Finale and Ultra Short Track Team Relay! We have 26 available slots available for the team relay race and will start selling them tonight at the pre-reg/info desk ($30/team gets you in, paid by cash, check or credit card). Team slots will be awarded on a first-come first-serve basis, so don't wait too long to register your team!
