USAC race

Dave Petermeier

2017-10-18

Thanks everyone! It's clear that I should be able to race my category. The
big question is how much is that going to cost, a one-day license or a full
membership? Sounds like full membership which is unfortunate, perhaps
that's something OBRA can work on with USAC for next year. A one-day
license option for those of us who travel and have the opportunity to race
in other communities would be great (for us and the sport!). I'll contact
the race promoter to see if they have an "alternative" interpretation of
the situation but the easiest (and cheapest) may be to just get a one-day
license and race the 45+ Open category and possibly follow that up with the
4/5 race if I can.

Cheers,

/Dave.

Robert,

The details of the reciprocity agreement are in this press release:

Your best bet might be to send an email message to the race promoter and ask how they will accommodate non-cat-5 racers without USAC annual memberships at the event.  You might include membership @ usacycling.org on that message to make sure everyone is on the same page.

I'm thinking about entering a USAC CX race in Minnesota. Does anyone know if they will take into consideration my OBRA license and category? It looks like I can do a one day license but would need to race cat 5. I'm an OBRA cat 4 so not a big deal as there's a 4/5 race but would prefer to race with the 3/4s. Anyone know if USAC will honor my OBRA cat 4 or can I appeal to the event organizer?

Cheers,

/Dave.
