Luscher Farm Crosstoberfest

I am not sure this venue is big enough to hold a ton of racers. It may be
best that it runs during the two day Halloween race weekend.

Scheduling conflicts are never great, but those of us who can't travel to
Bend really appreciate still being able to race without having to miss a
whole weekend.
Thanks!

Sounds like a great venue and a great race; however, it's unfortunate that
this was held the same day as Cross Crusades #5 in Bend. Perhaps next year
it could be held on a different weekend? Alot of us from Bend come to
Portland and Washington to show our support and we really appreciate all of
the racers that made the trip to Bend this weekend. Thanks Cross Crusades
for a fun weekend!

Kathy (you know I love ya),
I have always been impressed with the commitment of racers traveling long
distances to follow their passion (and points). I have done that when
younger. I personally think this is more about access to racing locally
than "making the trip" one way or the other. The people who are going to
travel are going to travel...period. Those that do not want to make that
trip, but would race if a local venue was offered are in fact more people
racing. That is good.
I am sure if I would have made the trip to Bend, I would have loved the
course provided by the Crusade Crew (never have disliked even one of their
courses). Lots of people travel to race, but some do not, so having races
on same date a good distance away is good for everyone. The times I have
raced in Bend I have had a blast and am sure that was the case for racers
this weekend. Weather looked wonderful both days. Bend does bike racing
right and it shows.
I guess if the promoters get together and decide that the Portland area
should not have a race on same weekend as the double Crusade show in
Bend....well then that is what we racers will have to deal with next season.
I hope that does not happen. Racers need options that are within their
means.
Winning is just fine, but for me winning is telling someone a good line
through a section of the course if I find it.........I don't care it he
beats my arse.

Same course as last year except a flip flop of surface conditions. Last year it was sketchy, slippery corners and struggle for traction in some areas. This year it was semi moist, fast and one could enjoy the bumps a bit more. This is one of the best courses offered up to us. I love this course! I know it conflicts with the Saturday race in Bend and S. Oregon, but this is a classic course just waiting to be enjoyed no matter the conditions. I hope it stays in on the cyclocross calendar for years to come and continues to grow in participation.
A huge shout out to Zone 5 for promoting, sponsors, OBRA for keeping it fair for everyone and a standing ovation to Lake Oswego Parks for supporting healthy, active recreation for people of all ages in our region.
Of course....a thank you to Candi Murray for just being Candi.
