Team Comp Comments

Hello

I have received two comments that the Team Comp should only be OBRA
registered teams and that it takes away from the team concept.
I totally appreciate comments, the only thing I know is change happens and
have slowly learned to role with it. I also hope some Road or Cross Teams
that are larger
in size
have a few people wanting to spread their team around the State to make an
appearance on Knobby tires!

Also considering we have over 2000 racers and only 4-7 teams competing at
the end of the season means we need to shake it up!

After 25 years I have a unique perspective or think I do and as I mentioned
to one of my friends that during Team Dirt's Championship, or Corvallis
Cyclery's or maybe even Pistis...Long live Pistis!
If Team S and M would have traveled to Bend to race that team would have
won the series 80% of the past 10 years! Team S and M Rules!
So fill out the form, find your best 5 OBRA Teammates with 3 scoring per
event and have fun. You can have 1 team or 2 or 3, just make sure we have a
Team captain for each or all of them. Only Teams Participating in 4 events
will be tracked at the end of the season.

Cat 3 Novice riders score 50% higher also as they ride on a shorter course.
1.5,3.0,4.5,6.0
While the longer course riders score
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 ect

The first deadline is 3/31 so we have a roster, the Second Deadline may end
up being a week later prior to Coast Hills.
Who knows maybe some new friendships and new rivals will come to the front
and create some new OBRA teams in 2019!

Also
I had one comment that we could do an Elite/Cat 1 Champs and Cat 2 Champs.

While on paper that could make some sense, I just have heard so many
complaints each year to upgrade that Cat 2 rider my ears could fall off!
We could consider this for 2019.

*Upgrades*

Remember 3 top 3's in a 12 month period and you move up except riders over
50 can stay as Cat 2 50-59 or 60+ for the men and Cat 2 50+ Women.

For the Series we will upgrade you through Bear Springs Trap!
After that you can finish the series off as a Cat 2 if you are under 49.

Juniors that want to Race Cat 1(Expert) junior which races on the Cat 2
Course
Scroll down on this webpage for the google form that Bill Warburton and
myself review.

Remember if you have a new OBRA license to bring proof to the early races!
Ride strong!
