The Best of Both is shaping up to be an epic day of bike riding and racing. Registration is evolving well, and the female amateur category is growing daily.

For those who aren't aware, the event takes place in Bend on June 16th. The race/ride starts from the Wanoga snow park with a 62-mile road course that orbits Mount Bachelor before looping back to Wanoga and a transition point. Here, riders can switch to trail-friendly bikes and head onto part 2 of the course - a 23-mile singletrack route that navigates some of the best trails and scenery in the region.

A Team Relay - One rider complete's the road course, hands off to a teammate in a dedicated Transition area. The teammate tackles the singletrack course.

We also have a Brewery Relay race teams of 6 - three working on the road together, transition, three working on the trails together.

We welcome all riders and all abilities. Our solo category includes a Fondo-style option for those who wish to simply ride the course at their own pace and have a unique and fun experience. We have a feed station and mobile tech support.

My biggest challenge at this point is the Women's Open Pro Solo category. The race has an identical purse to the Men's Open Pro solo race, and it goes ahead, regardless. However, If anybody out there knows of any fast women that would like to jump into the Open Pro Solo, please do put them in touch so we can expand that field and make the race more competitive.
