Hello, everyone!

For those who missed the email I sent out earlier this morning, a couple quick updates ahead of tonight's Portland Short Track race # 2:

1) Last week's results & current series standings.
Results of race # 1 (http://obra.org/events/26054/results) and 2018 series standings (http://obra.org/events/26056/results) have been posted on OBRA. Best 7 out of 8 races will count towards the individual series standings, so there is still time to get your act together and start picking up points. We also posted the results for all three kids races (https://portlandracing.com/kids-results-2018-06-04) and we can't wait to see more kids joining in!

2) Call-up list for Monday's races.
Check out the call-up list for race # 2 at https://portlandracing.com/call-up-list-2018-06-11 featuring the 222 racers who purchased a series pass and will enjoy a start-line call-up each week.

Please note that you will still be able to purchase a rest-of-series pass tonight (at the reduced rate of $140 for adults and $60 for juniors) and get your name added to the call-up list for the remainder of the series.

3) Our first batch of weekly raffle winners!
Even if you are not a contender for the podium, you still make a chance each week to be victorious in our popular weekly raffle. Every week, we'll raffle off a bunch of cool prizes (donated by our generous sponsors) among everyone who raced the last race, plus all series pass holders (regardless of whether they raced). This week's primes are courtesy of our sponsors Hopworks Urban Brewery, Breadwinner Cycles, and Dave's Killer Bread.

Winners are posted at https://portlandracing.com/weekly-raffle

5) Coming Up: Six Hours of Mt Hood!
Registrations are coming in steadily for the Six Hours of Mt Hood, which will take place on Sunday July 1 (just over 3 weeks away!) at the Mt Hood Skibowl mountain resort. The course is in great shape, so it promises to be another fun edition. First 200 riders who pre-register will receive a free commemorative pint glass (with a special new design for anyone who has raced the 6 Hrs two or more times), so don't wait around and register today (https://6hoursofmthood.com/register)!

In addition, we have special 2-day promotion going for anyone who plans to race both the Six Hours of Mt Hood and the inaugural The Best of Both Race this coming Saturday in Bend. If you register online by end-of-day tomorrow (Tue), you can use the discount code RACEBOTH, and you'll get $10 off the current Six Hours pre-reg race fee (regardless of whether you race solo or on a 2-person team) and another $15 off your Best-of-Both race fee (when you register with the same code through their site)!

6) Race plates & upgrades.
If you raced last week, make sure to bring back your race plate and re-use the pipe-cleaners. Also, a reminder to always use 3 pipe cleaners to attach your plate and to position your plate in front of any brake/shifter cables (for maximum readability). If you plan to upgrade or change category at any time during the series, you will have to request a new plate at registration. If you forget or lose your plate, you'll have to purchase a new plate at registration (cost: $5).

Finally, a reminder that every Monday night throughout the series, short track riders will enjoy two great specials at both the Hopworks Bike Bar (on N Williams Ave) and at the Vancouver Hopworks (located at 17707 SE Mill Plain Blvd): just show them your 2018 race plate and enjoy $1.00 off any beers plus - for every two people - a free portion of their world-famous pretzels & beer cheese sauce!

Looking forward to seeing you at PIR for another night of Short Track fun! The weather forecast looks great (partly sunny, with highs in the upper 60s), we'll change up the course (and throw in some new, fun lines on and off the motocross track), and thanks to the rain this past weekend, we expect the soil to be nice and tacky, and a little less dusty than last week!

See you tonight!

~Kris

PS: A reminder that with the Monday Night PIR Road Race Series taking a break during the Short Track Series, you can now drive across the track (once the crossing gate is opened) and park your car right across from the start line. However, at no time are bikes or cars allowed on the PIR road track.
