Hi All! Just passing on information from another cycling community member! She is looking for volunteers for an event that supports bike education with youth! See below for info:

Hi! My name is Shawn Barrett and I am the volunteer coordinator for the Northwest Tandem Rally in Albany, OR June 29-July 5. This rally is a fundraiser for the Albany Bike Education Program, which trains ~1400 5th graders each year on bicycle safety and donates helmets to those in need. We are in need of many volunteers for this event.

Specifically, we are hosting approximately 600 tandem riders at Timber Ridge School in Albany. Our greatest need currently is help with serving breakfasts (~2 hour shift, 8 am - 10 am) and dinners (~4 hour shift, 4pm to 8 pm) to the riders. If you can get the word out to potential volunteers that support this amazing fundraiser for bike education, it would be greatly appreciated.

Signups are happening through SignUp Genius. There are 4 tabs across the top. The one labeled MEALS is where we need the most help currently. If you have any questions, please reply to this email. I can even sign you up!

All volunteers can ride in the Rally at a cost of $15 per day for each day volunteered. We hope to see you there, as both a volunteer and a rider!
