Hillclimb Championships

I agree it’s the perfect course for a HC Champs. However, it’s worrisome there isn’t a live flier on the schedule. Are we sure it’s going to even go off?

I would suggest that OBRA designate the Ashland hillclimb as the state championships this year. I believe it has been done in the past and there is no better hillclimb in the state with somewhere around 4600 vertical of climbing.

Yeah, it's been done in the past when there was fire activity up at Mt
Hood. I'm sure there's already discussion about an alternate venue.

They could, depending on your definition of the event. MtHood is/was an uphill time trial [like Larch Mtn [tho obviously steeper] and like most iterations of Marys Peak, while Ashland is uniquely Road vs. Mtn mass start. The road side is properly a road event, with the first half or so raced that way, like the 2017 version of the Marys Peak ride. And the mtn side was -- mountain.
